The 2025 Agri’s Got Talent finals lit up the Boland with emotion and pride as ten agricultural workers from across South Africa shared their remarkable voices and stories on stage.
This year’s winner, Jenedine Jantjies (25) from Patensie in the Eastern Cape, touched hearts with her soulful performances of “This is Me” and “One and Only.” Working as a childminder on Endulini citrus farm, Jenedine says she hopes to inspire young people in her community to chase their dreams.
Clayton Mentoor (27) from Kromco near Grabouw claimed second place, while Mervin Williams (30) of DGB near Wellington proudly took third. Sandeline Mouers of Bo-plaas 1743 in Simondium received a special award from the Afrikaanse Taalraad for the best performance in an indigenous language.
Behind every note was a story of hope. As project manager Thea van Zyl explained, “Agri’s Got Talent is more than a competition – it celebrates people, their dignity, and the power of music at the heart of South African agriculture.”
The project is made possible through the support of Hortgro, the Citrus Growers’ Association, the South African Table Grape Industry, SA Wine, and the Western Cape Department of Agriculture, with additional support from FruitFly Africa and Culdevco.
